Engineers are professionals who can apply their knowledge and skills creatively to solve challenging problems or invent devices for the advancement and betterment of humanity.
Nowadays, most tools, products, and services are either invented or designed by engineers.
Therefore, it is quite fair to say that engineering has always been at the heart of the technological revolution.
Engineering has neither boundaries nor traditions, and it works across all disciplines. Hence, its impact is felt in all aspects of life.
Engineering has revolutionized business by creating technology-based businesses.
It has also revolutionized medicine by the development of many biomedical instruments, science by the advancement of Nano-science and Nano-technology, and communications by the invention of, mobile phones etc...
Today, engineering is more vital than ever.
This is because of the fact that our daily life and way of life depend very much on this field of technology.
It is envisaged that engineering in its all branches will persist to reshape the future of mankind.
In order for engineering to keep up with the rapid and continuing evolution of technology, it must always be technologically one step ahead.
The newly emerging technologies and engineering challenges require the work, collaboration and knowledge of many different fields of engineering.
This fact coupled with the strong determination of the University of Hail (U.o.H.) to take a leading role in the future of engineering resulted in the establishment of the College of Engineering which contains the following separate academic departments:
- Department of Electrical Engineering
- Department of Chemical Engineering
- Department of Civil Engineering
- Department of Mechanical Engineering
Therefore, the college is set to provide both students and faculty members an unparalleled range of opportunities and programs in order to prepare them to face the future's challenges with confidence, creativity, and innovation.
